Los Angeles (November 23, 2013) - ION Television invites viewers to “Get Wrapped Up in the Holidays” this Sunday, Nov 24th with the premier of “Defending Santa” at 9/8 pm central. To bring you the inside scoop, we interviewed Vincent De Paul (“Mad Men”) who co-stars with “Superman” Dean Cain (“Burn Notice”) in this heartwarming Christmas story directed by Brian Skiba. “Defending Santa” cast also includes Jud Tylor (“Charlie Wilson’s War”), Bill Lewis (“The Mentalist”), John Savage (“The Deer Hunter”), Jamie McRae, Cooper Barnes (“Suburgatory”), Jodie Sweetin (“Full House”), Jadon Sand (“Wreck-It Ralph”), Cole Sand (“Masters of Sex”), Gary Hudson (“As The World Turns”), and Elizabeth Friedman (“The Secret Life of the American Teenager”.) Set at a ski resort, Sheriff Hanson (Dean Cain) inadvertently arrests a sleeping Santa in the snowy woods on suspicion of a crime he did not commit. With his sleigh ride now in doubt, Santa is put on trial. During the process, Sheriff Hanson, also a dad and widower, begins to fall for Santa’s court-appointed defense attorney, Sarah (Jud Tylor). Vincent De Paul plays the owner of a law firm (Tony Smithson) whose top District Attorney has a conscious and decides to defend Kris Kringle (Bill Lewis) instead of working for Smithson's high powered clients. When asked about filming “Defending Santa”, Baltimore native Vincent De Paul reflected on childhood memories and the message, “I grew up watching ‘Miracle on 34th Street’ starring Maureen O’Hara and Natalie Wood with my mom and dad, brothers and sisters sitting around the Zenith TV in Highlandtown on Conking Street. It was so great to work on “Defending Santa’ that has such a great message of acceptance and believing in the spirit of love and family during the holidays, which were the ideals instilled upon me by my parents.” And in Baltimore (also my hometown), 34th Street in Hampden is decorated every year with holiday lights that attract thousands of families to drive through and take photos. Don’t miss “Defending Santa” this Sunday night on ION. This holiday film is part of five brand-new original movies in ION’s 2013 lineup. The new collection also includes “My Santa,” “Holiday Road Trip,” “Christmas Belle” and “All I Want for Christmas.” For more information about “Defending Santa”, visit and keep up with all the last news on their Facebook page © Liz H Kelly @LizHKelly, National Digital Entertainment Columnist and Goody PR
